I LOVE going to Grateful Dead Music… Now
My dad introduced me to the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, and more. I discovered that I actually like that type of music and sometimes I’ll find myself listening to them while I work.
First One
The first time Dad took me, we went the day before we left for Maui! That show was Stu Allen and Mars Hotel with the opener being Midnight North. The music was just like going to a real Grateful Dead concert and I heard a ton of the songs I love. This concert wasn’t like a 2 hour Justin Beiber, but it was from 7:00pm to 1:30am! My feet hurt form our front row dancing. I also met a lady in the bathroom who turned out to be Stu’s wife an she got me an autograph.
Second One
I was so exited when my dad told me that he was taking me to another concert! This show was Stu Allen and the opener was Old And In The Hills. This time it was the day after we got back from Big Sur!
FOOD!!
The first time we went, Dad took me to Monkey Cat. This was an awesome restaurant in Auburn and had unique decoration. The important thing was the food! I got to try crab cakes, duck, and tiramisu. All of those were amazing and I’m glad I tried them. I also had the rosemary garlic chicken, which was phenomenal. It had veggies, amazing mashed potatoes, and a lemon velouté (which is a a smooth white sauce made with meat).
Music
The opener was an acoustic bluegrass band called Old and In the Hills, and was a tribute band to Old and In the Way. They had an interesting sound that I haven’t ever heard before. Stu Allen was amazing, yet again. They did different songs and I most of them were ones I loved! I love going to these concerts with my dad and hearing the songs. While listening to the songs, I learned what a drums / space section is. I had so much fun with dad!
