New York Boat Ride

Visit New York

August 20, 2017

On the East Coast Trip with my school, we only spent two days in New York and it’s really all you need to see the awesome city.

Day One

This day was a lot of driving, a five hour bus ride. Luckily as soon as we got there, we started with fun. First we did the Metropolitan Museum of Art and it was amazing. The only thing was that it’s huge and has tons and tons of exhibits to see, but the building itself was beautiful. After, I got to see Central Park and it was gorgeous. I got to see the center of it with the giant fountain, Strawberry Hills, different statues, and I learned a lot. Apparently, it has five lakes in it and tons of hidden playgrounds. Next I tried New York pizza and headed to the Empire State Building. The sky was super cloudy and it had sprinkled earlier, so from the 87th floor, you couldn’t see much, but eventually we could kind of see some buildings pierce the clouds and kind of see the street. The coolest things was the sunset from way up there. After a long day, we headed to New Jersey where out hotel was.

Day Two

Our second day in the Big Apple was awesome, too. We started by riding a boat out to Ellis Island and getting to see a museum of the history if it, then went to the Statue of Liberty. It actually, is really small in person, her stand is bigger than she actually is. Next we went to Battery Park, Little Italy, and China Town. After that we went to the 9/11 Memorial for a few hours. Then we, I was so excited, rode the Subway! It was actually nasty and gross. Finally, I got to see a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Broadway in Times Square! Times Square is scary and I totally do not need to go back there at night.
