Whitney High School Custom Senior Sunrise

Looking Back and Looking Forward With a Senior Sunrise

June 8, 2020

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am officially a senior. Every year, it’s Whitney High tradition for the senior class to wake up early and watch the sunrise to signify the dawn of a new year; our final year in high school. Quarantine cancelled the official event, but my friends and I decided to plan our own with some awesome custom shirts.

Five o’clock am at Clarke Dominguez Park, we all gathered in the freezing cold to watch the sunrise. This was actually the first time all of us had even seen each other since March 13, the last of school before the shutdown due to COVID.

The second semester spirit week for this year was Fire vs. Ice theme to go along with the VAPA rally. The dress up days could have been better, but my friends and I still dressed up every day! All of the days were underclassmen against upperclassmen and everyone really wanted to beat each other to win.

This year to celebrate the birthdays of the girls in our family, we went on a girls trip to Las Vegas. I had never been and I’m glad I got to because it was so fun. I got to do so many new and awesome things on the girls trip!

The Strip was incredible to explore and check out the huge stores and themed hotels. Old Vegas was incredible to experience, too!

Photoshoot Birthday 2014

Strike A Pose, A Photoshoot Birthday

September 1, 2014

This year for my 11th birthday I got to have an extra special party.

You see, last year when I turned 10, I had a super fun family swim party, but as life went on, things came up, and we got really busy. We kept trying to schedule my a party with my friends… Then it was November and we moved on with no party.

I was bummed at first, but I knew my mom and dad would make it up to me for my 11th birthday — and they totally did!

I got to have an amazing fashion and photo shoot birthday. #bestpartyever

Everyone first came to my house where we ate a bunch of candy, did our hair and makeup, and got ready for our photo shoots at Enchanted Images. The photographers were super nice and their studio was amazing. They had music pumping, makeup and hair stuff for us to use for touch-ups, and a whole room of accessories, hats, and fun props.

Wizard Of Oz Ruby Red Slippers

Wizard Of Oz In San Francisco

October 24, 2013

Me, my mom, my nana, and my grandma’s birthdays are all close together, so we decided we should see a show to celebrate. We all love The Wizard of Oz, and were so excited when we saw it was playing in San Francisco we thought we should make it a overnight girls trip!

We all wore red shoes just like Dorothy’s red ruby slippers in the movie. There were other people dressed up at the show, too! Me and my mom wore blue shirts and jeans so we were sort of like Dorothy, but no country dresses!

I thought the show was so exiting because there were awesome special effects that made some of scenes extra-terrific! I really enjoyed the scene where they get hit with a cyclone, because it was really well done and creative. The characters and costumes were so cool, especially the Wicked Witch of the West — she was a great actress. Oh, and they used a real dog for Toto, which was really silly.
