With another year of being in the Future Business Leaders of America organization, comes another Northern Section Leadership Conference. Every February, chapters from high schools all over Northern California come together to network, learn about business, and compete in competitive events through the FBLA National Awards Program.
I always look forward to FBLA competitions because I can choose something new to learn about, study, and test my knowledge on various business topics.
Previously, I had competed in two team events, but this year I decided on two individual objective test events! First, I competed in Business Communications where I was tested on professional communication, proper sentence structure, writing techniques, and successful messaging. I ended up earning 3rd place! Additionally, I competed in Accounting I where I could apply the knowledge I had learned throughout the year from my business accounting class. I placed 2nd in this competition!
Bonus! At the section conferences, chapters can enter unique name tags into a competition. This year, I took on designing them to match this year’s theme: A World of Opportunity.
