Every year, the two rival school’s football teams in the Rocklin School District battle in out in one the biggest games of the year called the Quarry Bowl. Rocklin Thunder vs. Whitney Wildcats! I was so excited to go to this game because of how big it is and because it was my first high school football game.
My friends and I all went to “Tailgate” before the game. All of the students meet in the amphitheater and there’s music and free pizza. Then we all march into the stands together and as a sea of Maroon.
The whole student section was insanely spirited with Gold and Maroon. Since this game is so big, the graphics class made t shirts! The game was so much fun and I am so happy I went! Even though we lost pretty bad to Rocklin, our side definitely cheered the loudest. Turns out, there are a lot of different cheers that we all chant and I’m going to need to learn them all for future games. Everyone was so hyped up and energetic which made my experience so much more exciting. At half time, Whitney and Rocklin dance and cheer teams did a phenomenal combined routine that was awesome to watch.
I cannot wait for the next football game and I hope it will be a blast too!
