Winter Rally Spring View Middle School

Spring View’s Willy Wonka Winter Rally

January 20, 2017

At Spring View Middle School, twice a year, the Leadership team puts on a rally. In a rally, each academy (Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale for seventh grade and USC Berkeley, and Stanford for eighth grade) competes against each other to see who’s the “best”. Everyone gets dressed up in their academy’s colors and there’s a lot of cheering and screaming which makes for an awesome day of friendly competition.

Each rally is a different theme. For example, last year we did a Hollywood Movie Premier rally and a Summer Olympics Rally. This time, we put on a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory one. Rallies take months of planning because we have to pick a theme, make decorations, think of tons of games, and perfect everything.

Monsters Inc Brownies for Birthday Party

Easter Monster, Say What?!

April 20, 2014

This year my brother Carter’s birthday and Easter landed on the same day! He wanted to celebrate both together so the whole family hit the park.

We celebrated Carter’s birthday monster style with a Monster’s Inc. theme! Everybody got monster glasses and we made brownies with monster eyes on them… REAL or FAKE? (I’ll give you a hint… its candy!)

Then we celebrated Easter! Everybody enjoyed the Easter egg hunt especially my cousins Riley and Chloe! They loved searching for the eggs and the prizes inside the eggs!

We played some games too.

One was where you balance an Easter egg on a spoon, run a race, and don’t let it drop — and a lot of people dropped their egg. But in the end the final winner was… DAD! He won an iTunes gift card, but dad ended up giving it to Carter because he wanted it so badly.

The final game was the most deadly, the most dangerous, and the most tough challenge of all — HOT POTATO! It started out as a nice slow game of hot potato, then it all came down to the last two… Uncle Dustin and Dad! It was a fierce fight between the two and in the end Uncle Dustin was the final victor. The prize was a ball full of nestle chocolate eggs and an iTunes card, but the chocolates melted and it was chocolate all over the container, the iTunes card, and Dad and Uncle Dustin! That was so funny!
