Grandpa Daughter Dance

Grandpa Daughter Dance

March 18, 2014

Howdy Partner! Every year at school there is a Daddy-Daughter Dance and this time I decided to take my Grandpa Bourn!

Every year there is a different theme and this time we were having a hoedown. I dressed up all nice and cowgirly! Grandpa looked really nice, too! We had so much fun at the dance. We got to do some square dancing, some slow dancing together, and I got to dance with my friends a little bit, too!

The whole cafe was decorated to match the theme with hay bales, and fake animals outside, and western-style signs. Dancing with grandpa was so fun because he knew some pretty cool moves! I was really happy I got to spend some time with him and have fun together!

Star Wars Exhibit At The Tech

May The Force Be With You

February 9, 2014

“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”

Today was so awesome! For my Grandpa’s birthday, we went to a special, limited-time Star Wars exhibit called Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination at The Tech with my mom, dad, brother, grandma, and grandpa! We saw different Star Wars models, costumes, movie props, and tons more awesome stuff!

And yes, as a true fan, I totally wore my Princess Leia hoodie!

I got to see models from the movie, like all the different ships, a chicken walker, and an AT-AT walker! All of the models had lots of detail. There was also a life size speeder like the one Luke drives on Tatooine! I also got to see the costumes for Darth Vader and Boba Fett used in the actual movies. We also saw the Wampa, Wookies, Yoda, and a battle droid! They were sooooooo cool and pretty big, too!

One part of the exhibit was an air ride. On the ride you steer, and the “ship” is floating in the air like a spaceship or speedster! I also got to control a robot with a remote and make it walk back and forth!

Bishops Farm Pumpkin Patch

Face Painting At The Pumpkin Patch

October 12, 2013

Picture perfect for the pumpkin patch.

Me, my brother, my mom, and my grandma all went to Bishop’s Pumpkin Patch together. We went down all the slides, the hay trampoline, and had our faces painted — but getting the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch was the most important part of the day!

I saw the face painting down by the train and I really wanted to do it. We looked at the different designs and I picked the half butterfly and Carter chose the mythical dragon. Carter went first and when he was done, the dragon was AWESOME! I couldn’t wait to see how mine would look. Once mine was done, I looked in the mirror and the butterfly was so cool and I really liked it.

Once we finished the face painting, we ate lunch had some dessert (YUM), rode the train, and then went to the pumpkin patch. We picked the perfect big pumpkin and took a picture with all of the together.

Fishing At Mandarin Orchard

The (Tiniest) Catch of the Day

September 22, 2013

Come one, come all to see the tiniest catch of the day!

My Grandpa and Grandma live on 5 acres in Newcastle, California and have a big pond in their Organic Mandarin Orchard. We LOVE to go fishing there, and this time when my family went fishing at my grandpa Steve’s house, I caught the tiniest of all fish!

My cousins Riley and Chloe came with us to go fishing. It was actually my Uncle Dustin’s first time going fishing — EVER! He had a lot of fun! Riley and Chloe liked the fish too, but Chloe mostly sat in the shade and watched.

We all liked touching the slimy fish bodies. I thought it was super funny that my brother Carter caught a fish with nothing but the scent of worms and no actual worms on his hook! Carter, with nothing but the scent, still caught a bigger fish than I did! I only caught the tiniest fish in the pond, while everyone else caught the bigger fish. Even Riley caught a bigger fish than I did!
